Frente Amplio (Costa Rica)

The Frente Amplio of Costa Rica was born in 2004, as a political alternative of the new century.
It gathers the heritage and trajectory of the Costa Rican left, joining the struggles of these times for the rights of all people in harmony with the rights of the environment and nature.

The Frente Amplio defines itself as progressive, feminist, democratic socialist, pluralist and pacifist; and conceives the youth as the fundamental clay for the real change and transformation that the country requires. It currently has a parliamentary representation of 6 congressmen (out of 57) whose average age is 30 years old.
