Left Resistance's Manifesto:

In Armenia, labour is exploited, thousands of people work under oppressive conditions to enrich a few.

We must resist.

Women are perceived as men’s properties, supplements, servants; they are doubly exploited, abused and murdered.

We must resist.

The environment is subordinated to human needs, it is ravaged by the claws of capitalism for the profit of local and international oligarchs.

We must resist.

Wealth is accumulated in the hands of a few. People are dispossessed and impoverished, key economic sectors are privatized, public property continues to be appropriated by large businesses, the economy remains oligarchic, neoliberal and exploitative.

We must resist.

Armenia is in a state of neocolonial dependence to other states, international institutions and corporations that control a significant part of the country’s resources, keep us in a cycle of debt dependency, dictate legislative regulations and apply other contemporary tools of colonization.

We must resist.

In Armenia, a number of people are left outside the authoritative boundaries of cultural normalcy; they are labelled as "others", "enemies", "aliens", they have become targets of humiliation and violence, their vulnerable lives and marginal status are used for political manipulations.

We must resist.

In order to liberate the people and nature from the oppression of capital, workers from exploitation, womxn from patriarchy, the country from neocolonial dependence, and our society from xenophobia, we need a Left Resistance. A resistance that rejects authoritarianism, domination, exploitation and subordination, one that transcends national boundaries and strives for a just, free, solidary and post-capitalist society.

Motivated by the realities and ideals above, Sev Bibar, Femlibrary, The Armenian Environmental Front and The Guild of Matenaradan join forces to create the “Left Resistance” coalition of grassroots movements, which aims to strengthen our intersectional struggles and expand our spaces of resistance.

“Left Resistance” also joins the Progressive International, a political movement aspiring for a democratic, decolonized, just, egalitarian, liberated, solidaristic, sustainable, ecological, peaceful, post-capitalist, prosperous and plural world.
