Umut-Sen is a collective that aims to strengthen the union struggle of the class, and in which those who adopt the following principles can take part.
  1. It describes a wide area of work aimed at various needs in line with the decisions of workers such as establishing a union, joining an established union or developing active opposition to a union administration. It works for the organization of the unorganized and the strengthening of workers within unions.
  2. It defends the independence of the workers' movement and organizations from the state and capital. It strives to reveal the active and conscious struggle of the workers against all kinds of attacks and manipulations by the state and capital.
  3. It strives for workers to manage their own unions. It works for the will of workers to be dominant in all union processes and organizations. For this purpose, it defends workplace committee and assembly structures. It works to ensure that workers directly participate in all decision-making and decision-making mechanisms without any discrimination and to make the will of workers dominant.
  4. It strives to prevent bureaucratized and caste-based union relations from usurping the workers' labor and struggle. This effort includes, in addition to the struggle against caste-based structures, a continuous and active awareness-raising struggle against bureaucratization among workers. This is the responsibility of all Umut-Sen members working in unions as experts or workers.
  5. It advocates that workers analyse their own strategic position within the capitalist production chain, where labour and capital are concentrated in different ways today, and implement all actual and legitimate forms of resistance that will provide the most effective results in their workplaces.
  6. It does not see the struggle of workers against the attacks of the state and capital as limited to workplaces; it advocates that the struggle should be carried out in the broadest union solidarity and together with other segments of society. It is aware that the roles of producer and consumer assigned to workers by the capitalist system are not independent of each other and foresees that a holistic resistance against capitalism together with different segments of society can create broad opportunities for class struggle.
  7. It advocates solidarity and cooperation among workers in the workplace and in daily life against the working order that gradually weakens social solidarity networks and isolates workers.
  8. It defends the international solidarity of workers against capitalism, which operates beyond national borders and exploits the labor of workers all over the world.
  9. It is against all kinds of discrimination against workers based on race, religion, sect, gender, age, education and skills by the state, employers or unions. Therefore, it works for the solidarity and joint struggle of all workers who are subjected to discrimination or exclusion.
