For the struggle for life, transformation and the peoples’ dignity

The Peoples’ Congress in Colombia calls for popular mobilization against capitalism, imperialism, and genocide.
In this call to action, the Peoples’ Congress presents a forceful condemnation of capitalism and imperialism as the root causes of global hunger, structural violence, and genocide. They argue that capitalist states and institutions like NATO, the IMF, and the World Bank deliberately perpetuate war, debt, and political interference to subjugate the Global South.

Hunger is spreading across the globe as a result of capitalism, turning food, water and nature into commodities. Capitalism gambles with life and condemns millions of human beings to misery while a few hoard vast wealth. Hunger is one of the most brutal and silent forms of this structural violence, and its persistence in the 21st century is a cry against human consciousness.

Under the guise of “security” and “democracy,” capitalist states wage wars, occupations, and economic sanctions that suffocate entire peoples. NATO is only one aspect of this imperialist intervention, which infiltrates the economy through the IMF and the World Bank with unpayable debts to keep the people of the South underserved, divided, and weak. Imperialism also permeates politics, defining who governs, and culture, dictating how people think and live.

Crimes against humanity remain unpunished despite UN resolutions, ICJ rulings, and ICC orders. International law is shuttered, and its institutions are dominated by elites, creating a stage for empty rhetoric and hypocrisy. Zionism celebrates bombs and destroyed childhoods, trampling on the dignity and courage of those who have crossed the sea to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestine.

On the American continent, and more specifically in our Colombia, we understand what foreign interference means: transforming a country into a large military base that monitors a supposed “internal enemy”: social movement leaders, peasant leaders, Indigenous peoples, and those who live in the urban periphery. Here in Colombia, we suffer from doctrines imposed by the North, as well as from governments that are subservient to interests far removed from those of the majority, to such an extent that even a progressive government cannot resolve the major structural problems that afflict us.

We call for an ethical, political, and popular mobilisation. Let our streets be filled with flags and voices calling for an end to the genocide and occupation of the Palestinian people, for the condemnation of imperialist violence and its doctrines that murder people and cultures, for the full respect for the sovereignty of Nuestra América, and for the construction of an international order that truly serves life, not capital.

We call for mobilization for the fulfillment of the agreements and promises of change that remain unfulfilled; for the elimination of the national security doctrine and the dismantling of paramilitarism; for concrete actions that guarantee the construction of national and popular sovereignty; for a solution to the humanitarian emergency; for the defense of the human rights; for an end to genocide against our peoples; and for social participation in building social transformations for peace.

Internationalists of the world unite for a new anti-capitalist, anti-patriarchal, anti-colonialist, anti-racist, and anti-militarist era!

AGAINST GENOCIDE AND IMPERIALISM!

AGAINST THE NATIONAL SECURITY DOCTRINE AND PARAMILITARISM!

FOR A SOLUTION TO THE HUMANITARIAN EMERGENCY AND THE DEFENSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS!

FOR THE POPULAR SOVEREIGNTY OF LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN!

FOR THE FULFILLMENT OF THE AGREEMENTS AND TRANSFORMATIONS FOR PEACE!
