Swaziland United Democratic Front

Swaziland United Democratic Front (SUDF) is a broad-based social movement and democratic coalition bringing together students, unemployed people, rural women, ex-miners, farmers, consumer organisations, artists and community organisations across Swaziland.
Rooted in both urban and rural communities, the SUDF links struggles for democracy with struggles for social and economic justice, organising around issues including education, health care, food sovereignty, gender equality, climate justice, workers' rights and access to basic services.

In a country governed by an absolute monarchy and marked by severe political repression, the SUDF has emerged as one of the principal grassroots forces advocating participatory democracy, social justice and the empowerment of ordinary people through collective organisation and popular mobilisation. It seeks to build solidarity across communities and social sectors within Swaziland, across southern Africa and internationally while advancing a democratic and egalitarian alternative to authoritarian rule.
