European Solidarity with 'Nuestra América'

We, European delegates present in Bogotá at the invitation of the Progressive International, affirm our full solidarity with the Nuestra América initiative.

We support the peoples of the Americas in the face of the imperialist offensive led by the United States of Donald Trump. The openly acknowledged resurgence of the Monroe Doctrine, combining military interventions, economic sanctions, financial pressures, electoral interference and information warfare, weakens the entire international order and opens the way to a generalization of the law of the strongest.

While the aggressions of the United States and its affiliates attack the sovereignty, and even the existence, of peoples, in the Americas as well as in Greenland, by committing a genocide in Gaza  or by negotiating the future of Ukraine with Vladimir Putin, we refuse that sanctions, blockades, military interventions or political destabilizations be carried out with the active or passive complicity of European governments.

We salute and support the strategy of defense of the sovereignty of peoples and of international law carried by Nuestra América. The peoples of Europe, and of the entire world, share with the peoples of the Americas an interest in the preservation and the extension of the principles of international law under the aegis of the United Nations Organization, the only alternative to the generalization of wars. In the face of the climate emergency, this method is the only one that makes it possible to organize the exit from the age of oil through cooperation among peoples.

As representatives of progressive forces from several countries of Europe, we commit ourselves to building, with you, a front of refusal : against imperialism, against war, and for an alter-globalist, non-aligned diplomacy, at the service of peace, solidarity and cooperation among peoples.
